Over this time, I developed the skills necessary to help students of various English proficiency levels, cultural backgrounds, age groups, and learning styles succeed in achieving their learning objectives. Tutoring children, middle school students, undergraduate students, and community members aided my ability to identify learners' needs and successfully prepare them for standardized English tests (e.g., IELTS, TOEFL, FCE, KET, PET, and SSAT) comprised of writing, reading, speaking, and listening sections. Working at the two writing labs for Ohio Program of Intensive English (OPIE) and ELIP Academic & Global Communication Program allowed me to understand the challenges multilingual writers often face in academic writing as well as design solutions to overcome them. This fostered my leadership skills and resulted in my ability to supervise other tutors in developing these skills.
